In very good condition, this beautiful and heavy Napoleon III period chiselled bronze centrepiece with 2 patinas,signed. Basin decorated with dragonflies, plants, butterflies with an antique decoration in the centre representing Diana the huntress, undressed, with her bow and quiver full of arrows, caressing a sitting dog and a prey at her feet. The marli is smooth. The whole rests on a pedestal on which can be found the signature of this bowl. Very neat packaging shipped with track and trace. For information, in 1854, this chemist also created his workshop in Auteuil (France) in order to copper-plate very large metal pieces; he achieved the copper plating of all the cast iron objects and monuments of the city of Paris, including the fountains of Venus, Diana and the Four Seasons on the Champs-Elysées. After visiting the Auteuil factories, the Emperor placed an order for the copper plating of two gigantic cast iron eagles and for various other workpieces.
