Decorative wooden betel box from Birma/Myanmar.
Handmade and beautifully decorate with stones and birds on the handle.
Betel pepper, also called betel, is a vine from the Piperaceae family, which is chewed in all of South and Southeast Asia and the Pacific Ocean region. Local people roll the betel leaves around pieces of Areca nut, sprinkled with lime and various spices, which differ from country to country. By chewing this for hours, a certain feeling of well-being is created.
This betel box is in mint condition, without signs of wear.
Also well-suited as a jewellery box.
