Buren - Swiss watchmaking
The Buren Watch Company was founded in 1898 when the London-based company, H. Williamson Ltd., tookover the Fritz Suter & Cie company in the Swiss town of Büren an der Aare. The company produced all kinds of pocket watches and table clocks.
Highly interesting burnished pocket watch with a fine dial.
Very nice enamel dial (gold setting around the dial) with the times for twelve different destinations. Very good condition - blued steel hands - long minute hand - short hour hand.
Burnished steel case with pressed outer cover - burnishing (blackened) very well preserved (rare).
Interesting solid gold-plated gilded bridge movement. Anchor escapement. Signed BUREN - movement works. Shape that shows the skill of the creator.
Watch diameter without crown 48mm - with crown 63mm. Height 16 mm - weighs 79 g
Interesting collectors clock depicting different time zones in beautiful condition. Very few signs of wear.
