JonOne (French-American artist born in 1963 in New York), famous for his artworks influenced by graffiti, was born in Harlem, birthplace of colourful and intricate graffiti art. He started to signed his own graffiti, with a childhood friend, at the age of 17. In 1984, he founded the 156 All Starz Graffiti collective, to connect passionate graffiti artists.
After moving to Paris in 1987, he started to work on canvas and in studio as well. He quickly made a name for himself in the Parisian artistic circles through his artworks on canvas, he exhibited in 1990 in the Gallery 45 in Berlin and participated in the Graffiti Paris exhibition, where his work is on permanent display. His works are sold at the most important auctions in the world of graffiti.
